Gettin’ Out Of Town

Those of you who pay attention to these things may have noticed that Ohio State is playing at Washington on Saturday.  That means HERE, in Seattle.  My youngest brother and his wife arrived last night and will stay through Sunday.  We’re headed for Port Townsend this morning just for a change of venue.  We’ll stay there tonight, and tomorrow we’ve arranged for a boat trip through the San Juan Islands, with a stop in Friday Harbor and perhaps some whale-watching.

We’ll come back to Seattle Friday night and Saturday, of course, we’ll walk down to Husky Stadium to watch the football game.

The Buckeyes have played here twice before, and both times they’ve gotten thrashed, so I’m puckering up and practicing my cringe.

I’m taking my laptop and camera, so I’ll post from the road if there’s connectivity.

  1. Now, now. Confidence. #10 OSU is not going to lose to “others receiving votes” Washington.

    Probably.

  2. You’re here in Port Townsend! Woohoo. We were just in town and didn’t see you. How could that be? Wish we’d known, we might have tried to rendezvous for a glass of wine and a good hello.

Sounds like a very fun long weekend. Go Buckeyes!

  4. Buckeyes losing to the Huskies?! That wouldn’t be the Wurst thing to happen this weekend, would it?

  5. Carroll:

So, we both won again today, Phil. Should be another interesting match-up when we go against each other in October. Wanna fly down and share some beer in front of the big screen?

  6. i see that the football game thing worked out well for you osu fans.

i went to osu also (oregon state univ)

Kathy - at halftime, the Dawgs had a bunch of momentum, and Jake Locker looked like he was running downhill. We showed some character hanging in and exposing him for the freshman that he is. Good luck with them this weekend.

Robin - as I indicated in an email, I wasn’t really sure where we’d be at any given time, and we really didn’t have a lot of time in PT. Just long enough to wonder why we don’t go out there more often.

Carroll - that sounds like an interesting proposition. We haven ‘t been to the Bay Area in far too long. The game’s in Happy Valley, no? Can we watch in separate rooms?

Babette - nice in-joke. We were intricately scheduled, and had no time to wander over to the Wurst.

Roger - I remember when we first moved here, and I was a little homesick betimes, and those “other” OSU teeshirts would give me a start.

Phil, sure! You and my beloved husband in one room, throwing down Fat Tires and watching the game, and Mz. P and I in the other, chatting and getting to know each other :-) Seriously, I think this is well-worth our mutual consideration! (To be continued off-blog)
